The pecan harvesting process has begun across the South.  Early projections indicate that this will be an "off" year for pecan production in much of the country.  A shorter supply will result in a price increase but we do expect to have plenty of new crop wild seedling halves & pieces on hand throughout November and December.

The local crop is just beginning to fall and it's too early to tell what the quality of the pecans will be.  The ice storm in 2009 so severely damaged many of the trees that they didn't produce any fruit in 2010.  Their energy was spent on surviving and putting on new growth.  This year we have experienced a drought locally and although there are many pods on the trees we won't know about the quality of the meats until they begin to fall in larger quantities.  You are encouraged to call about our inventory of in-shell pecans.  We provide cracking service for your in-shell pecans...a real time saver!
